Just a couple of weeks after the closure of the gardens to the public our 25 year old Magnolia insignis has flowered for the first time. It has wonderful pink flowers which cover the plant as you can see from the video.
This plant was originally named Manglietia insignis but the botanists have reclassified them all as Magnolias.
