We’ve been busy behind the scenes over the winter months and are excited to reopen our gardens on Monday 10th February 2025, for what’s shaping up to be an action-packed season.
Our 140 acres of stunning woodland gardens boasts a National Collection of Magnolias – one of only four in the country – a breathtaking array of camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas and a vast collection of champion trees. Our award-winning springtime blooms are world famous and our historic castle nestled within a picture postcard setting on Porthluney Beach are unrivalled. As if these aren’t compelling enough grounds to visit, we’ve created even more fantastic reasons to experience our glorious gardens.

Local Residents get half price entry for the first four weekends of the season to see the amazing spring display
It is a joy to visit Caerhays at any point in the season, however there is an undeniable magic about the abundance of camellia and magnolia blooms in the garden during February and March – it’s a sight so spectacular it attracts international visitors.
We want to share the garden with locals at this special time of year, so we’re offering all residents living within PL and TR postcodes a 50% discount on entrance tickets during the first 4 weekends of the 2025 season.
Local residents can get their half price tickets on the following weekends:
- 15th & 16th February
- 22nd & 23rd February
- 1st & 2nd March
- 8th & 9th March
On these weekends an adult entrance ticket is just £6.25 and a child’s ticket only £2.50. It’s important to us that Caerhays is a financially accessible garden, so we’re delighted to share this discounted entry price with local residents. Tickets can be purchased online here, or at Caerhays on the day (please bring proof of address).
We’re dedicating our famous pink magnolias to Breast Cancer this March and organising a month of fundraising for Charity CoppaFeel!
March will be a month of Magnolia Mania at Caerhays Castle & Gardens, and we’ll be using the draw of our world-famous pink magnolias to support Breast Cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! Throughout March our team will be dressed in pink, shaking donation buckets and organising special walks and tours in aid of CoppaFeel!
Our main fundraising event will be a special Mother’s Day walk through the gardens on Sunday 30th March. Visitors will be encouraged to donate along their way around the spectacular route, taking in the incredible sights, colours and smells of Magnolia Mania. You can support CoppaFeel! via our Just Giving page.
Other Magnolia Mania activities happening in March include social media campaign ‘Magnolia of the Week’ and a free weekly guided tour of the gardens every Thursday. These free walks can accommodate 20 people, first come first served, donations to CoppaFeel! are welcome. You can find out more about our free guided walks on our social channels.
All eyes are on our National Collection of Magnolias in spring, so we want to use our famous pink magnolias to raise money for a fabulous charity. Our fundraising events are held in memory of the brave and inspirational founder of CoppaFeel! Kris Hallenga, whose legacy lives on in all of us. We are really excited about this year’s fundraising events and can’t wait to reopen for the season!
About CoppaFeel!
CoppaFeel! was founded by Kris Hallenga who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of just 23. Kris lived in Newquay and cherished the adventures of life in Cornwall until she tragically lost her hard-fought battle with breast cancer in 2024 at the age of 38. CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and they’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest.
Ellie Baldwin, Head of Individual Giving at CoppaFeel! says “We’re delighted to have the support of Caerhays Castle & Gardens this March, in what will hopefully be a great way of encouraging people to get out into nature and experience the beauty of the pink magnolias. Not only will visitors get to enjoy the stunning gardens but also raise vital funds and awareness for CoppaFeel! to ensure all breast cancers in young people are diagnosed early and accurately, improving their chances of survival. Hiking and adventures have long formed part of our fundraising activities, so this chance to walk around one of Cornwall’s most beautiful gardens feels very aligned with CoppaFeel! and what our charity is all about”.

New for 2025: George Forrest & Ernest Wilson Exhibition at Caerhays
We’re excited to announce an additional attraction for visitors to Caerhays this season – the new George Forrest & Ernest Wilson Exhibition showcasing the escapades of the legendary plant hunters. The exhibition is included in garden ticket prices, and for those of you who are interested in the historic seed collecting expeditions, this presentation should be really informative and enjoyable.
2025 Caerhays Lecture series announced
Between February and April 2025 we’ll be running our acclaimed RHS and Historic Houses Lectures, with the first being the RHS Camellia Lecture on 28th February. Lecture tickets include refreshments and a tour of the garden, both given by Charles Williams, owner of the Caerhays Estate.
Subsequent topics include a RHS Magnolia Lecture, RHS Scented Rhododendron Lecture and a Historic Houses Williams Caerhays Mineral Lecture. Tickets for all four lectures are available to book online and should be purchased in advance.
Caerhays is taking a lead role in The Great Gardens of Cornwall’s 30 year celebrations
Charles Williams, owner of Caerhays, is also the Chairman of The Great Gardens of Cornwall, an initiative that three decades ago had just five member gardens, but is now blooming as a collective of 14 exceptional gardens across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
The Gardens are a united group, but each one is unique. From the island destination of Tresco Abbey gardens, to the exposed Minack garden that clings to the cliff edge, to the wildly romantic castle and woodland gardens of Caerhays. All of The Great Gardens are perfectly situated within their own locations, and proud of their distinct identities.
In 2025 The Great Gardens of Cornwall is celebrating 30 years of collaboration, and will be marking this milestone with a new book, mini documentary, and a range of media interviews, which Charles, as the Chairman, will naturally take a leading role in. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram channels for more information!
